Jews in Tunisia at the time weren\u2019t allowed to possess any land and were restricted to three main activities : they could work as usurers, work on clothes or make alcohol. At this time figs and dates were growing very largely in the country. As there was almost no wine produced in Tunisia and Avraham BOKOBSA needed something Kosher to drink for Shabbat. He tried with figs and that is how fig brandy was invented.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.akkerman.co.il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/DSC_0264_1200.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener
